Studio LK has optioned land at Craigend, and has produced a vision and masterplan for a 2,000 home mixed use development on this 70 ha site in Perthshire, Scotland.
The proposal aims to extend a small, existing settlement on the site, in response to the local housing need, and expected future population growth.
The design takes precedent from the traditional Scottish market towns such as Dunkeld, and proposes neighbourhoods based on sustainable design principles that promotes walking, cycling and ‘placemaking’.
Building construction will be of a high quality, using natural and locally sourced materials where possible, and will provide a high level of insulation, in line with the project’s passive approach for achieving sustainability.
