The proposed development is the internal alteration of Hill House, a Grade II Listed Building, to convert the current sub-standard 17 bedsits into a range of 10 one and two bedroom flats that meet modern development space standards and provide the occupiers with a better standard of living.
We have been working closely with the Council’s Conservation Officer and building an evidence base to support our design for two of the flats to be duplex rather than bedsits, for heritage as well as financial reasons. This has been challenging but important to ensure our client achieves financial viability.
In addition, the scheme proposes renovation of the exterior of the building. The positive renovation of the house will ensure its long term viable use which will lead to investment in the maintenance of the property necessary for the long term conservation of the listed property.
